Biographical Information Mark Calhoun is an NSEC (Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center) Graduate Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Mark joined the Winter lab in the winter of 2012. As an undergraduate at Rose-Hulman, Mark developed a forearm prosthetic that gained international attention (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7PK8sWwixI). This project motivated Mark to pursue a career in research that can potentially be applied to neuroprosthetics. Mark is the recipient of the 2012 Sam Hulbert Outstanding Graduate Award from Rose-Hulman.
Current Work Mark’s current work involves developing neural biomimetic polymeric materials towards a number of applications, including tumor cell migration and neuroprosthetic coatings.
