Before enrolling as a Ph.D. student in Chemical Engineering, Jenny obtained a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. respectively at University of Louisiana at Lafayette and at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Now, as a fourth-year graduate student at Ohio State she enjoys doing research in Biomolecular Engineering. Her work, under the guidance of Prof. Jessica Winter, focuses on the design and synthesis of fluorescent magnetic nanocomposites for clinical imaging of cancer cells. Jenny is actively involved in recruiting minority graduate students at the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) annual conventions. In addition, she enjoys outreach activities organized by the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, and aiming at arising interest for STEM fields among high school and community college students. Whenever possible she also assists Women in Engineering in their effort to introduce young girls to the engineering and science fields, via their multiple summer camps.
