Laurin joined Dr. Winter's research team in the summer of 2010. She is currently in her fourth and final year as an undergraduate at Ohio State. In addition to her academic coursework and undergraduate research, Laurin is also a teaching assistant for the Freshman Engineering for Honors program at OSU. In her free time, Laurin serves as a student leader at the St. Thomas More Newman Center on campus, where she plans and leads service-based mission trips for fellow students with a desire to serve impoverished communities.
Laurin is currently working with Kunal Parikh and Alex Kammerer in the laboratory to develop a nanopatterned hydrogel contact lens to improve corneal wound healing.
